Dear Editor: There is no substantial reason for the noise dispute between sleep-deprived Quayside residents and the railroads to rumble, toot and screech in the same old way. As I wrote in a letter some months ago, the Southern Railway of B.C.

These days, we tend to take the eight hour work day for granted.

Dear Editor: We have to be out of our minds in this province! Granted, the Liberals did a very poor job bringing the HST about. But they were even less responsible taking it to the vote.

Dear Editor: I'm a huge supporter of our senior Salmonbellies, and I'm at a loss for words as to what happened this year.

The hated HST is dead. Soon its equally unloved cousin, the PST, will be dug up and pressed back into service. Opposition parties and their allies are declaring victory, and corporations and their allies are predicting economic disasters.

More than anything, the result of the referendum on the HST shows just how neatly divided this province remains. Our electorate has been known over the years for its polarization.
