B.C. politics is never short of irony. Take, for example, Premier Christy Clark's recent action to hike political staffers' wages, and then after feeling the heat, deciding to backtrack on the decision.

I have to agree with Pat Tracy's column of June 14, Another reason to distrust journalists, although I will add another dimension of concern.

Dear Editor: Re: Hopes for heritage demolished, The Record, June 14. Not everyone was surprised that the sale of 221 Third Ave. resulted in the demolition of the house and planned construction of two new homes. The previous owners of 221 Third Ave.

While those two oil pipeline proposals from Enbridge and Kinder Morgan have been hogging the limelight in recent months, another part of the energy debate is about to elbow its way onto the public stage.

Dear Editor: Re: Hopes for heritage demolished, The Record, June 14. The destruction of the 1926 Edward Riddell house (J.B. Whitburn, architect) and the surrounding garden was a major loss to New Westminster heritage.

While many of our fellow citizens labouring with disabilities do very well for themselves, it's pretty safe to say that people who require wheelchairs are coming from a point of disadvantage when it comes to earning a regular income.

Dear Editor: The last thing New Westminster needs is another bridge, especially one running through Sapperton with its current traffic congestion.
