Dear editor, On Sunday, July 10 we hosted a Spare Parts Adventure pop-up playground in Tipperary Park.

OK, that’s it. I have to do it. I have to rant.

I completely understand the frustration people feel when they are unable to reserve a campsite in one of our provincial parks. You've booked some vacation time, or maybe have simply left work early on a Friday to get a jump on the weekend.

We probably should have written this editorial in January – because that’s when it might have helped someone. But we didn’t. So, now we, like thousands of other folks in B.C.

Dear Editor The June 30 issue of the Record reported that a “new bylaw” regarding the operation of food trucks in New Westminster was recently approved by city council.

Dear Editor The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists – B.C. Chapter applauds the New Westminster School District’s decision to use part of the $300,000 in administrative savings to increase occupational therapy (OT) services.

It’s far too easy to become cynical and pessimistic about the fate of our nation.

Dear Editor I have to make two confessions. First, I wear my heart or maple leaf on my sleeve when it comes to all things Canadian.

A few days ago, the hallway outside my legislature office was overrun with a phalanx of fully armed police officers, busy training legislature staff in a nearby room on the finer points of security.

Kudos to city council for passing it and kudos to the Queen’s Park residents who pushed for, and got, a one-year moratorium on demolitions of heritage homes in Queen’s Park.
