Dear Editor: Re: Time to take a hard look at health care, Our view, The Record, March 26.

The United Way of the Lower Mainland has fallen on hard times, and donations are down. So far down, that the non-profit is ending $1.6 million in funding for seniors, which will impact countless groups in the region.

One of the major fault lines that divide the B.C. Liberals from New Democrats was on full display last week, as the government moved to significantly overhaul the Agriculture Land Reserve. The ALR is viewed in almost religious tones by the NDP.

Dear Editor: I guess I am missing something regarding the problem of the Pattullo Bridge. As I see it, the bridge is not the problem; it's the entry and exit that poses the problem. It's the gridlock on our city streets.

Dear Editor: I am pleased that there will be interpretive panels on the history and architecture of the Woodlands School. The residents and their experiences should not be forgotten.

Dear Editor: On a recent weekday afternoon, like many others I saw, I travelled to Sixth and Sixth to shop at Safeway. I was stunned to see it closed for renovations as I had shopped there just the day before.

Dear Editor: A six-lane Pattullo Bridge would not ease the congestion problems for Surrey commuters without hugely expensive and disruptive changes to New Westminster's network of roads.
