Burnaby hockey players placed five skaters on the B.C. Hockey League's list of top 50 as voted on by the fans. Glenn Anderson, who played on the Bellingham Blazers, and former Langley Lords forward Ryan Walter made the class of 1970.

Simon Fraser University sophomore linebacker Casey Chin received a Clan Pride Award on defence at the Clan's year-end football awards on Monday. Chin led the Great Northwest conference in tackles, averaging 8.2 stops per game.
