Soundly beaten: The Vancouver Whitecaps under-17/18 boys' team, in white, overwhelmed the visiting Seattle Sounders last week, winning 9-0 in United States Soccer Development Academy play at Burnaby Mountain.

New Westminster was well represented on boys' and girls' provincial box lacrosse teams. Naoll Degife of New Westminster was named to the bantam boys' team for the Commissioners national championships to be held in Whitby, Ont. in August.

St. Thomas More Collegiate appears to be in it for the long haul. The Burnaby independent school scored three first-place medals and a pair of bronze in the under-15 portion of the 46th annual B.C.
