New Westminster was well represented on boys' and girls' provincial box lacrosse teams.
Naoll Degife of New Westminster was named to the bantam boys' team for the Commissioners national championships to be held in Whitby, Ont. in August.
Tavin Grant and Lucas Greene of Burnaby were also selected alongside Degife.
Four New Westminster players, Cole Catton, John Edin, Harjot Mahal and Finn Stark, all made it on the provincial peewee boys' roster for the national festival, which runs in conjunction with the bantam competition.
The boys' nationals will run from Aug. 4 through 12.
Ontario has dominated the bantam boys' national championships for the past four years, winning the Canadian box title at the annual Ontario Lacrosse Festival held at Iroquois Park in Whitby.
A B.C. team won a national peewee boys' title in 2008.
On the girls' side, Royal City girls completely dominated the bantam lineup, placing eight of the 19 players on the provincial squad.
Bianca Ballarin, Katie Browning, Nicole Del Grosso, Monica Disanjh, Chole Nottingham, Madisen Obrovac, Keeley O'Neill and Nadine Stewart were named to the team from New Westminster that will compete at the national female championships to be held in Victoria from July 29 to Aug. 2.
Carlene Spagnuolo of Burnaby also earned a spot on the bantam girls' squad.
New Westminster girls Jenna Chernoff, Courtney Kearnes and Nicole Shanks were named to spots on the midget girls' team.
Amber Gilmore, Amie Morrison, Jolene Robinson and Kaitlyn Yan of Burnaby also made the roster of the B.C. Lacrosse midget girls' team.
