The JVs held their own against last season's AA provincial finalist Mission and Holy Cross at an exhibition jamboree at Burnaby Lake last Friday.

Quarterback Jamie Shiho threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more, while Grade 10 pivot Mackenzie Ratcliffe also rushed for a score for the JV Hyacks.

Mark Massicotte had one score and two receptions, while last season's defensive MVP Jeff Lugtu had nine tackles at linebacker, while scoring one TD on a run and a second on a pass from his fullback position on offence.

Linemen Jonathan Tomalty and James Cunningham also had strong games. Receiver Wayne Palmer had a touchdown reception.

Grade 9 lineman Harper Sherman will join the Hyacks' varsity team on a visit to Blaine, Washington for a spring scrimmage.

While in the U.S., Sherman will also take part at a University of Oregon combine on the following Saturday and Sunday.
