Friend, then foe. A great player either way. Fred ‘Whitey’ Severson played both roles for lacrosse fans in New Westminster during his heydays in the sport, first as a legendary player, and later as a referee.

New West athletes, coaches and officials will soon be making their way north for the 2020 BC Winter Games in Fort St. John -- Feb. 20-23. Over 1,000 athletes from every corner of the province have trained to represent their zone at the Games.

New Westminster and Burnaby track and field athletes made some hay at last week’s Harry Jerome Indoor Games in Richmond. A handful of medals were procured, led by golds for New Westminster's Michelle Dadson and the Burnaby Striders’ Alisa Dervina.
