Investigators have had a break in the bizarre case of people connected to New Westminster's Justice Institute of B.C. being targeted for shootings and arsons.

TransLink will get to get to work planning for a replacement Pattullo Bridge early in 2012. TransLink has advised residents to stay tuned for details in early 2012 on ways people can get involved in information sessions.

An early morning trip to the laundry room sparked a fire in a Sapperton apartment building. Fire inspector Brent Joel said a small fire occurred in an apartment building on Sherbrooke Street, after a resident used a dryer at about 4 a.m.

The Salvation Army has been operating its extreme weather shelter for several days because of the recent cold spell. Capt. Dave Macpherson of the Salvation Army said its been operating the program since Dec. 2.
