TransLink will get to get to work planning for a replacement Pattullo Bridge early in 2012.
TransLink has advised residents to stay tuned for details in early 2012 on ways people can get involved in information sessions.
Preliminary planning has been for replacement of the bridge, which is one of the oldest bridges in the Lower Mainland.
Mayor Wayne Wright said the city will be discussing the Pattullo Bridge issue with TransLink.
"We want to get more information," he said. "They are moving forward with it for consultation with the public."
Coun. Lorrie Williams said council hasn't discussed Pattullo Bridge plans with TransLink but expects that will happen as part of a broad discussion on that transportation corridor. She said the region is never going to stop traffic, but it can control it through its routes.
