It’s the start of a new year and a great time to learn a new skill or expand your horizons. We are continuing with our popular feature, The Record ’s Top Five (or More) Things to Do This Weekend and offer the following suggestions for Jan.

Hugh Cruickshank started and ended his life in New Westminster – but travelled the world in between. Cruickshank was born in New Westminster in 1930 and passed away in his hometown on Nov. 24 at the age of 83.

This is not like the board game nights of your childhood.

Most of us plan to exercise more in the new year and, luckily, for gardeners, great opportunities for stretching, flexibility and balancing are waiting right outside.
