Editor: On July 23, I was visiting the Queen's Park (animal) petting farm and witnessed some troubling behaviour from some of the children there. Most parents are quick to stop their children from chasing the chickens and goats, etc.

We are naturally proud of the natural beauty where we live. There are many astoundingly stunning places in Canada, each with its own character, but few match Vancouver for its ocean/mountain/climate combo.

This week marks the 50th anniversary of American astronaut Neil Armstrong becoming the first person to ever set foot on the moon. It was “one small step for man, and one giant leap for mankind” and the world watched in awe.

If you have ever attended one of my cooking classes or cooking shows, you know that I am a big advocate for using fat in cooking. You will always hear me chanting “Fat is Flavour; Fat is Moisture; Fat is your Friend”.
