The Burnaby South Rebels earned their first entry into the B.C. AAA high school girls' basketball championship in almost 50 years.

After earning a district berth at the Lower Mainland AAA boys' basketball championships over New Westminster last month, Burnaby South senior Nick Garcha said the team wanted to show more such performances that they could be proud of.
