Royal City Literary Arts Society has announced the winners of its 2019 contest

There’s nothing quite like the sound of a children’s choir. The Vivo Children’s Choir is holding its spring concert, Always Sing Your Song, this weekend. It’s on Saturday, May 4 at 4 p.m. at New Westminster Christian Reformed Church, 8255 13 th Ave.

It was a golden weekend for band students from École Glenbrook Middle School. The school’s Grade 8 band made a trip to Whistler for the 2019 Whistler Cantando Festival, April 26 to 28.

Way Off-Broadway Wednesdays isn’t pulling any punches in May. The fringe performance series is continuing in the backroom at the Heritage Grill with a May 1 st performance of Porn & Pinochet .

Film fans, save the date for the next screening in the Last Mondays at the Movies series. The Arts Council of New Westminster film series continues on Monday, May 27, with Wild Rose .

New Westminster singers will be in the spotlight when Phoenix Chamber Choir winds up its season.

Art lovers are invited to check out the newest exhibition at the Gallery at Queen’s Park. Garey Shergill’s The Places We Can’t Remember runs from Wednesday, May 1 to Sunday, May 26. An opening reception is set for May 1 from 6 to 8 p.m.

ON NOW Month of April Carolyn Trotter has an exhibition of paintings at Burnaby Neighbourhood House North House, 4908 Hastings St. Open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Easter is the spring holiday that coincides with the return of warmer, sunnier weather. Cherry blossoms are blooming and the flowers are peeking up to say hello. It is great time to gather friends and family together for a vernal celebration.
