They’re young, keen and ready to hit the road. The New Westminster Police Department welcomed its newest batch of constables last week, adding another three officers to its ranks. The new officers come from a variety of backgrounds.

If you want to pick a pepper from Ajay Sharma’s garden, you better beware of which one you’re picking. The West End resident is getting set to harvest a bumper crop of several varieties of chili peppers, including one of the world’s hottest peppers.

100 Braid St. Studio has carved out a creative space in a warehouse in Sapperton. Owner Susan Greig opened 100 Braid St Studios and Gallery at #200-100 Braid St. in June 2014.

Here’s one for the crafty types out there. Make + Play, a new crafty drop-in class for kids, is starting up at River Market on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The classes are geared for kids aged two to five.
