Phone scams that target credit card clients are extremely common, according to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. If you receive a phone call that appears to be a scam, officials urge you to report it immediately.

Beware of unreputable couriers – that’s the message from the New Westminster Police Department following several cases of missing property.

Over the past year, the department has investigated several claims from people who’ve hired unofficial couriers to ship stuff overseas, but the items never arrive, according to a press release from police.

The couriers are hired through online classified websites, including VanSky.com, to transport goods, particularly to China, but the unofficial couriers fail to deliver the goods, according to police.

“The New Westminster Police Department encourages everyone to use only official couriers or postal services to ensure their property arrives at its intended destination,” stated the release.
