And they do that by taking care of everything else.
“Because each of our cemeteries has a funeral home, the entire funeral can take place in the same location,” says Andrew Knapman, manager of Forest Lawn Funeral Home “There are very few cemeteries that still have space available in the Lower Mainland, and none of them have a funeral home on location.”
The two funeral homes are part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation, and cemetery service providers, which allows them to offer a number of unique alternatives to New Westminster’s only public cemetery, Fraser Cemetery, not to mention affordable rates and discounts on a number of funeral products and services.
Best of all, pre-service meetings, the service, the burial, and the reception can all take place at one location, making the process much easier on grieving loved ones.
“Once the funeral is done, you don’t have to worry about driving through traffic to get to the burial plot,” says Knapman. “It’s all in the same place.”
Although both funeral homes are located in Burnaby, those living near the west end of New Westminster will appreciate Ocean View Funeral Home’s southern Burnaby location, which is only a 20-minute drive from the New Westminster town centre.
“Being part of Dignity Memorial® means we can bring services and programs to the people of New Westminster that have worked in other communities around North America,” Knapman says.
