Dear Editor: I found reading Julie MacLellan's opinion on "Public art makes the world better" (The Record, May 2) interesting.

Dear Editor: Re: Public art plans stir up debate, The Record, April 30. No offence to city council, but I always worry about politicians debating what constitutes art which is suitable for the public to see.

A proposed public art installation isn’t wowing all members of city council – and that may be a good thing. City staff has been working with the Vancouver Biennale to bring three public art installations to town as part of the “outdoor museum”.

Garage sale junkies from around the Lower Mainland will be visiting New Westminster in the coming months to search for treasures. If you’re a fan of garage sales as much as I am, you’ll want to put these dates on your calendar.

A book we have just been looking through is very interesting.

What is art? Give me your answer to that question, and I'll probably be able to tell you which side of the Vancouver Biennale debate you fall on.

Dear Editor: Metro Vancouver is still trying to find a site to build a garbage incinerator which soon no one but they will want, as support is dwindling.

Dear Editor: Re: Is history repeating itself?, Letters to the editor, The Record, April 18. To Garth M. Evans: Yes, it is for the Ukrainians of the Ukraine, over and over through the years.

Don't listen to what public health officials and doctors have been warning for years. The Fraser Institute knows better.
