Well, the past week wasn't exactly a stellar one for Premier Christy Clark's Families First agenda.

Nothing says Christmas like the sound of a choir singing. Yes, sleigh bells and snow crunching and the sound of presents being ripped open are all very Christmassy sounds, but choral music still wins as far as I'm concerned.

Dear Editor: I have a cellphone account with Rogers. For several months I have been charged a $2 + 10 cents tax = $2.10 for a paper invoice fee. Do they not make enough money for what they charge for your cellphone? Gary Prokovich, New Westminster

In order for our political bodies to effectively represent the interests of its citizens, our governments need to represent the people that they serve. Women make up only 36 per cent of the B.C.

Dear Editor: Re: proposed traffic control at Howes and Ewen. I would strongly suggest that the City of New Westminster engineering department investigate the two proposals that are being put to the residents of Queensborough.

Dear Editor: Regarding the article in last week's paper dealing with the decision made by the competition bureau to close the Thrifty's store in Sapperton. Something to me just doesn't add up.

Dear Editor: We were touched again this year by our community's giving spirit on the eve of the spirits. This Halloween, for the third year, our family collected healthy canned food items in addition to candy at our neighbours' doorsteps.
