Editor: Yes, everybody wants to be helped in these days of restriction from the poorest on up. So everybody takes a cut, but not everybody.

For every glimmer of hope that some form of normalcy might not be too far off, I find myself getting smacked by the disheartening realization that we’re in this for the long haul.

Display empathy, honest and openness? Check. Demonstrate competence and expertise? Check. Design effective messaging and stick with it? Check. The U.S.

Editor: The annual Day of Mourning on April 28 will look a lot different this year.

As the “new normal” continues to reshape our society in so many ways, it is worth noting the pandemic is allowing governments at all levels to take actions previously considered almost unimaginable.

Editor: I appreciate what our politicians are doing in Ottawa. I know they are getting some input from some business owners, but I would like to add some concerns that I and business owners I am in contact with have.

Dear Editor, Re: “Health crises not all equal,” Voices, April 16. Thank you, Eve, for shining a light on the blatant fact not all health crises are treated equally.

The COVID-19 health pandemic has crippled the Canadian economy, putting millions of people out of work and local store owners out of business. The financial implications are far-reaching and will take years to recover from.
