Defence wins you championships, its been often said. It’s a common refrain that the New Westminster junior A Salmonbellies paid homage to this week with a couple of slick acquisitions in preparation for the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League playoffs.

They were up, they were down -- the New Westminster Salmonbellies sampled every possible outcome on Wednesday but walked away with a win to grab a share of first place in the Western Lacrosse Association.
