Cook burned at restaurant

A woman recently suffered facial burns while cooking in a Columbia Street restaurant. Emergency crews were called to the restaurant at 718 Columbia St. about 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 22.

Fire sparked by cigarette

A cigarette is to blame for starting a small fire on Monday morning. New Westminster fire crews attended a fire at 52 Royal Ave. on April 9. "There was a small couch fire," said Chief James Cornell.
