A New Westminster organization is hosting a unique event this weekend that's set to recognize creativity in the community.

Called "An Afternoon with Authors," the Royal City Literary Arts Society has slated an array of free activities on Sunday, Nov. 26, to engage the public with several artists and writers.

This includes fiction and poetry, live music, a book market, door prizes, food vendors and an open mic.

Tellers of Tales, a segment by authors Wonia Kent, Jerena Tobiasen, Ruth Kozak and Una Bruhns, will start the four-hour event at the I Heart New West Community Art Space in Columbia Square Plaza (103-78 10th St.)

Poetic Justice with Alan Hill at 3 p.m. will feature Herb Bryce and Franci Louann, as well as music by Catherine Booth.

For more information, you can visit the Royal City Literary Arts Society's website.
