More new foodie destinations are coming your way in New West

Indian street food, anyone? Plus, Delicia Café's opening draws nearer.

If this photo makes you hungry for chaat, you're soon to be in luck. 4 Seasons Chaat House is set to open soon on Sixth Street.

Baked delights with an Australian flair and flavourful Indian street food are among the culinary offerings coming New Westminster's way.

New West’s foodies are keeping their eyes on some upcoming additions to the city’s dining scene.

Among the eateries we’re waiting eagerly for as March draws to a close:

4 Seasons Chaat House

This new eatery is opening up in the prominent Sixth Street space formerly housing Arvind's Curry and Cocktail (420 Sixth St.) The 4 Seasons Chaat House website has promising news for those who can't wait to try out the Indian street food delights on the menu — it's reportedly gearing up for an April 1 opening (4/1/2023). The menu shows some tempting savoury snacks, including Katori Chaat, Papdi Chaat and Desi Mexico Chaat, plus a Kulcha Chole Burger, with chole (a spicy chickpea curry) stuffed in kulcha bread. The website shows it's keeping the same listed phone number as Arvind's, 604-515-1070, so here's hoping fans of the previous incarnation will be equally pleased by the soon-to-be new restaurant.

Delicia Café & Bakery

Yes, we brought you word of this impending arrival in February, but things are starting to take shape quickly now. This new café is coming soon to the space formerly occupied by Donuteria, at 656 Columbia St. The café has an Instagram account (@deliciacafebakery) that’s offering glimpses of some pretty delectable-looking baked goods — and just this week it posted its first photos of the interior of the café, where some staff training was happening. Plus, the café website is filling up with information, including the fact that the owners have more than 15 years' experience running "two renowned cafés" in Australia. It's promising handcrafted brews and goodies baked fresh in-house daily. They're promising to reveal their opening date plans on Instagram, so keep an eye there to find out when you should pop by.

Kimshaker Filipino Cuisine

You're right, you've read about this one before, and it's already open in the food court at Royal City Centre. But we wanted to throw out a reminder about this spot for steamed pork dumplings (their bestseller), crispy meat-filled spring rolls, and other Filipino food faves. Haven't tried it yet? Pop by during mall hours to check it out.

Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken

Yes, this, too, was mentioned in February, but we're leaving it in the "coming soon" files.  The new location at 408 East Columbia St. in Sapperton (near the new Subway location) is now listed on the company website, but it's not yet open, and we haven't yet received any confirmation  of an opening date. New West chicken lovers should soon be able to enjoy Portuguese-style flame-grilled chicken right here at home (instead of venturing to Lougheed Town Centre or Market Crossing).
