Check out 2 of New Westminster's best Halloween displays

One is family-friendly for all ages. The other? Well, let's just say it's not for the faint of heart.

'Tis the day for small ghosties and goblins to run around in the dark collecting candy — and for their parents to try to stay warm and dry.

If you're looking for somewhere to take the kids (or the grown-ups) to help get you into the Halloween spirit, we're presenting a pair of New Westminster's most entertaining Halloween displays.

Wicked Witch of the West End: 1507 London St.

Make your way to 1507 London St. (near 15th Street) to check out the perennially popular — and always terrifyingly over-the-top — display from the Wicked Witch of the West End.

Just a warning: This one's not for the faint of heart. There are some details that may prove a little too intense for the smallest folks in your crowd (or even some of the larger folks). So go and enjoy — but maybe be prepared to hold the kids' hands very, very tightly.

Halloween inflatable fun: Massey and Churchill

A reader tipped us off to this one (thanks, Diane!). On a large corner lot at Massey Street and Churchill Avenue, you can find what may well be New Westminster's largest collection of Halloween inflatables. You can find minions, ghosts, skeletons, Frankenstein, a dragon, a witch in a tree — you name it, it's probably got a home in this delightful collection of kid-friendly fun.

There are a few spooky touches (some wraith-like beings in the trees, for instance), but, for the most part, this one's going to be just fine for the small people in your house. And they'll undoubtedly enjoy standing there finding their favourite characters in the mix.
