Patrick Street Productions is bringing a musical adaptation of It's a Wonderful Life to the Anvil Centre stage from Dec. 19 to Jan. 5. You can save money (and cross some shopping off your Christmas list) if you buy tickets this week, so that's our excuse for posting this much too early.

A rising star in the world of comedy – and a former New Westminster resident – is on his way back home to entertain. Gavin Matts, who was raised in New Westminster and now lives in L.A., is a rapidly rising star in the world of comedy.

New Westminster families are invited to turn out at Queen’s Park next weekend for a special art exhibition and community day. The On the Spectrum event is set for Sunday, Nov. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Gallery at Queen’s Park in Centennial Lodge.

Writers – or those who’d like to be – are invited to a workshop at Anvil Centre in November. The Royal City Literary Arts Society is hosting the workshop, Writing the Hero/Heroine’s Journey, on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
