Musician hopes March 4 event can help to bring new life to the downtown scene

It’s a celebration of Black History Month, featuring the talents of young performers. The African Stages Association of B.C. is bringing its production, Story-Powering Our Youth, to the stage at Anvil Centre for the Arts for four shows from Feb.

Loud, colourful, sassy, unpredictable and full of heart. Those adjectives have been used to describe Vancouver’s iconic Elbow Room Café – and now they’re also applying to a new musical that pays tribute to the Davie Street institution.

The New Media Gallery is exploring balance, causality and choice in a new exhibition opening this week. BRINK, a group exhibition, opens with a reception on Friday, Feb. 24 from 7 to 10 p.m.
