Two more New Westminster schools have been added to the COVID-19 exposure list.
New Westminster Secondary School saw an exposure on May 4, 5, 6 and 7, according to a letter to families May 13 and a post on the Fraser Health school exposures website May 14. Lord Tweedsmuir Elementary School recorded its second exposure in less than two weeks, with an exposure on May 3, 5 and 6. That follows on the heels of an earlier exposure at the school April 20 and 22.
So far, four district schools have seen exposures in May, with a previously reported exposure at Glenbrook Middle School May 3 and 4 and another at Lord Kelvin Elementary School May 4 and 5.
The new exposures come on the heels of recently released data showing that 33 students in New Westminster had COVID-19 in the nine-week period between Jan. 1 and March 7, with three "clusters" occurring in New West schools in that same time period. (A cluster refers to a case in which at least one in-school transmission occurred within a 14-day period.)
