Herbert Spencer Elementary School has seen its second COVID-19 exposure of 2021.
The school is one of two in the New Westminster district, along with New Westminster Secondary School, to receive exposure notices over the weekend.
The Herbert Spencer exposure occurred April 13 and 14, and families received notification on April 24. At New Westminster Secondary, the latest exposure occurred April 16, and families also received word April 24.
The two exposures were added to the Fraser Health school exposures website over the weekend.
The latest exposures mean New Westminster Secondary School has had at least one person with COVID-19 in the school on 21 days since classes returned from winter break. It's the highest number in the local school district, followed by Glenbrook Middle School with 15.
New Westminster Secondary School is the district's most populous, with more than 1,700 students. Glenbrook Middle School has the next largest enrolment, at about 685.
Hardest hit amongst the district's elementary schools since Christmas has been Richard McBride (with an enrolment of about 420 students), with six separate notices covering 11 school days.
