With just about six weeks to go in the school year, Connaught Heights Elementary School has marked its first COVID-19 exposure.
The school saw an exposure on May 10 and 11, according to the Fraser Health school exposures website this morning (May 18). It's one of two school exposures added today, along with an exposure May 10, 11 and 12 at Glenbrook Middle School. The exposure at Glenbrook comes on the heels of a previously listed exposure May 3 and 4.
An "exposure" means someone who has since tested positive for COVID-19 (student or staff) was in the school during their potentially infectious period.
Until now, Connaught had been the lone school in the New Westminster school district with no exposures in the entire 2020/21 school year.
Its addition to the list now means six of the district's 12 schools have recorded exposures so far in May.
