TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A former Kansas attorney general’s successful political comeback in Tuesday’s election kept an open U.S. House seat in Republican hands while the only Democrat in the state’s congressional delegation won reelection.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar won a fourth term Tuesday over ex-NBA player Royce White in Minnesota. Klobuchar went into the campaign with a history of big wins and a huge financial advantage.

Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Minnesota on Tuesday. Omar will get a third term representing the heavily Democratic 5th District, which includes Minneapolis and some suburbs.

Democrat Bob Ferguson won election as governor of Washington on Tuesday, defeating Republican former U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert. Ferguson is the state's three-term attorney general.

Democratic Rep. Doris Matsui won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing California on Tuesday. She was elected to succeed her late husband in 2005 after he died in office. Matsui has secured reelection comfortably in every race since.

Republican Bernie Moreno defeated incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio on Tuesday, in one of the year's most competitive and expensive Senate contests.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer of North Dakota won a second term on Tuesday, turning back a challenge from a Democrat making her second attempt to gain a Senate seat.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Missouri voters approved a measure on Tuesday that enshrines abortion rights in the state constitution and replaces a near-total ban on the procedure.

Republican Rep. Tim Walberg won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Michigan on Tuesday. Walberg, a former pastor and state legislator, was first elected to the U.S. House in 2006 but lost his reelection bid two years later.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia won reelection to his third term Tuesday, defeating Republican challenger Hung Cao .
