Dear Editor: Re: No trucks on Royal Avenue, Letter to the Editor, The Record, Feb. 3. I read the letter by Catalina P. Trinidad with interest because it intrigues me and affects me in a number of ways.

Can there be a better argument for a free and diligent media? During the last several months, reporters at the major dailies have been reporting on serious criminal charges that have been stayed due to court delays. Think of it.

Dear Editor: Re: Math students' marks adjusted after complaints, The Record, Feb. 8. The actions of the school district suggest the children's marks in Foundations of Math 11 were not scaled.

Re: Clark may ignore polls but can't ignore voters, Our View, The Record, Feb. 3. Notice that the total of the B.C. Liberal and the B.C. Conservative combined percentage is still higher than the NDP total.

Dear Editor: Re: Focus on thugs, not victims, Letters to the editor, The Record, Feb. 1. Well I am glad to see that the (letter to the editor) I submitted had a response. I personally had four emails and all were in agreement with what was written.

This week, statisticians who continue to offer us needed glimpses of reality issued a warning cry over B.C.'s growing income inequality. The gap between the rich and poor is getting wider, according to a report by B.C. Stats.

Dear Editor: Much of the chatter today is about those greedy teachers who, we are repeatedly told by provincial government forces, are demanding pay increases of 15 per cent in these hard times when the B.C.

The B.C. government is receiving a lot of kudos over its decision last week to aggressively push for liquefied natural gas plants and to wean B.C. Hydro off private power producers.

Dear Editor: Re: Poverty a non-partisan issue, Letters to the Editor, The Record, Jan.27. I'm pleased the minister of children and family development responded to my column in The Record on poverty in British Columbia.
