Dear Editor: Re: Make the noise go away, The Record, Feb. 21. I feel for Lori Pappajohn. Someone should have to reimburse her that $10,000 she had to spend on the soundproofing of her house.

Dear Editor: At the Feb. 17 council meeting, an interesting presentation was put forward on Intelligent City initiatives. New Westminster has many wonderful features to promote especially the stories and qualities of the Fraser River.

TransLink has deferred public consultation that was set to get underway about the Pattullo Bridge.

An organization that had its roots in New Westminster is offering up a night of trivia and fun this weekend. PAWS for Independence Association is presenting Brain Teaser Trivia 2014, which features food, beverages, trivia and prizes.

I love a festival. Almost unconditionally. Because they’re so, well, festive. And in a small city like New West, celebrations offer rare opportunities to kick up one’s heels with your neighbours and celebrate all that’s good about our fair city.

While the federal budget offered thin gruel for most last week, the decision to ditch the immigrant investor program (or the buy-your-way-into-Canada program, as it was alternatively known) is a welcome move.

Dear Editor: A relatively simple fix, in my opinion, to the increase of traffic on Pattullo Bridge as a result of vehicle traffic avoiding the toll on the new Port Mann is to toll all of the bridges in the GVRD.

Dear Editor: Re: Truck traffic a key issue, Letters to the editor, The Record, Feb. 14. Regarding Mr. Dolmat's letter on truck traffic, his closing comment "move the traffic safely and smoothly through or around our city.

One of the dominant stories of late 2013 and early 2014 has been the saga of changing grocery stores and the loss of Thrifty Foods. There have been many inquiries directed our way about this type of store in New Westminster’s history.
