Editor: It’s convenient that the mayor of New Westminster has banded together with a coterie of “like-minded, but independent” councillors running in the next civic election under the name Team Cote and had the names listed in the newspaper – voters

Imagine if a politician on New Westminster city council was convicted of a crime, such as sexually assaulting a teenage girl. Did you know that the rest of council and the public are powerless to force that politician off of council? It’s true.

Editor: I write this as the Run Organizer for the Terry Fox Run in New Westminster for the past 11 years. Thank you very much for the thoughtful and motivating editorial in last week's paper about Terry Fox and his dream.

When I hear the words “I’m bored” spew out of one of my children’s mouths, I cringe, but I also welcome the challenge. Boredom is where creativity blooms.

The strength of the relationship between the BC NDP government and the B.C. Greens may about to be tested on two fronts. While the two parties disagree on some issues, there has been little if any consequence from any of those disagreements.

'Bootlegging' will still be illegal in B.C.

When you run for elected office, you expect voters will have a lot of questions for you. It comes with the territory.
