Letters: Thanks for seamless COVID-19 vaccine process in Richmond

A 93-year-old Richmond News reader says she was 'blown away' by the ease of the vaccination process in Richmond

93-year-old Richmond resident Pat Fleming receives her COVID-19 vaccine from retired physician Dr. Diane Miller at the River Rock site.

I was blown away by the whole vaccination experience and kudos to the whole crew at the River Rock Theatre.

From the ease of the parking, the great signage, the fact that you could take your younger friend in with you and at every turn there were two chairs so that you were never alone.

Lots of greeters and people to answer your questions, lots of seats so you could wait in comfort before and especially afterwards when you had to remain in place to see if there would be any sensitivity.

My appointment was for 9:30 a.m., everything was run on time and I was out of there by 10 a.m., greatly relieved to have my first shot against this nasty virus.

At 93, I have spent much of last year alone and very thankful for my furry companion, Tazz and the many caring friends and neighbours who helped me with all of my practical needs.

Today made me feel as if there might just be a light at the end of this seemingly endless tunnel. Thanks to all of the kind and thoughtful greeters, helpers and nursing staff for making my experience so joyful.

Pat Fleming
