New Westminster Police Department says someone reported a possible shooting and are looking for witnesses.
Today (Monday) at approximately 4:40 p.m., the New Westminster Police responded to the area of 9th Street and St. Andrews Street for a report of a possible shooting, said a news release, adding that when officers arrived, several people were located; however, no one with any obvious injuries.
The New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section have since taken conduct of the investigation.
“Investigators are speaking with witnesses and other parties who may be involved. Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of this alleged shooting,” stated Sergeant Jeff Scott. “Because we are still in the early stages of the investigation, detectives are working hard to determine what exactly happened.”
