The nomination period for the byelection begins Tuesday, April 26 and closes at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 6. No candidates have come forward yet, according to the city.

City clerk Jan Gibson has been appointed chief election officer with council and committee clerk Philip Lo taking the post of deputy chief election officer.

In an email to the Record, Lo said the city would post more information on the byelection to its website by the end of Wednesday, after Record deadlines.
