If you haven’t got your Cougar playoff tickets for tonight’s game yet, there’s still hope.

The team has 200 tickets that had been reserved for friends and family of the Kelowna Rockets that are available now to the public at the CN Centre box office.

The tickets are also being sold on the Tickets North website.

“That’s it, after that there’s nothing else,” said Cougars ticket account executive Dylan Lukinchuk.

Tickets for tonight’s Game 5 in the WHL Western Conference semifinal series between Prince George and Kelowna first went on sale right after the Rockets beat the Cats 2-1 Wednesday night in Kelowna.

“After the game we were up to 3,500 (tickets sold) within an hour of the game ending and I think by 8 o’clock we were sitting at about 4,500 and by the time the window opened (at 11 a.m.) we were 5,000,” said Lukinchuk.

Lineups were long throughout the day Thursday as people came to the rink to buy their tickets in person at the Tickets North box office.

The first two games of the series at CN Centre were sellouts, with a beyond-capacity crowd of 5,867 on Friday and a full-house 5,858, including standing room, for Saturday’s Game 2.

“We’re living back in the glory days of the 90’s here, it’s good to see that people are so eager to get to the game,” said Lukinchuk.

That was the first loss of the 2024 playoffs for the Cougars and it ended a 15-game winning streak.

They still lead the best-of-seven series 3-1 and can wrap up their chance to advance to the third round with a win tonight.

At least one local restaurant has caught playoff fever. Lukinchuk said the Wall of Fame Sandwich Shop on Victoria Street is selling the loaded Ravensburger at $15.00 in honour of Cougars goalie Josh Ravensbergen, who started the Kelowna series with back-to-back shutouts.
