New Westminster Police are investigating a case in which a security guard was allegedly assaulted with a baseball bat.

New Westminster police are seeking assistance in locating two suspects who assaulted a security guard with a baseball bat.

Members of the New Westminster Police Department attended the area of Queens Avenue and Seventh Street around 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, after receiving a report that a uniformed security guard had been assaulted with a bat. He had been patrolling a parkade at the time of the incident.

“The security guard was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” NWPD spokesperson Sgt. Sanjay Kumar said in a news release. “We’re appealing for anyone who witnessed this assault or knows anything about the circumstances around this assault to contact us.”
