Raise your glass to Cocktails for a Cure 2023

Here’s an event where you can party wild… for a good cause

This weekend, clink a glass of cocktail with your friends at a buffet and jazz night — while also helping raise money for the Tumour Foundation of B.C.

The foundation’s annual Cocktails for a Cure event is for all those who like to party with a side of philanthropy.

It’s the fifth edition of the fundraiser, which supports children and families across the province affected by neurofibromatosis (NF) — a genetic condition that causes uncontrollable tumour growth on the nerves of a person’s body.

As per the Tumour Foundation's website, NF can lead to hearing loss, vision impairment, disfigurement, cancer and other ailments; it affects more than two million people in the world.

According to the foundation, there is currently no cure for NF.

But the Tumour Foundation of BC strives to support the health and well being of those who are affected by it. And Cocktail for Cure is a key fundraiser that helps them give that support.

The funds from the event will also go towards NF-related education and medical programs.

Anyone can help out by simply buying tickets to the fun evening that includes a dining experience at a riverfront setting, live jazz, and a silent auction of unique items that participants can bid on.

Cocktail for a Cure is at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at Inn at the Quay, 900 Quayside Dr. Tickets have to be booked online at the Tumour Foundation of BC’s website. A regular ticket is $95; a table of eight can be booked for $600.
