Plans to restrict traffic on the Pattullo Bridge so potholes can be repaired have been put on hold.

Last week, TransLink announced there would be single-lane traffic on the crossing between New Westminster and Surrey tonight and tomorrow night. It has now announced that the planned overnight lane closures have been cancelled.

“The planned pothole repair work on the Pattullo Bridge that was announced last week is being postponed due to low overnight temperatures,” said an update from TransLink. “The bridge will remain open to traffic as usual on Thursday and Friday. The work will be rescheduled to a later date, as weather permits.”

TransLink had planned to close the southbound lane (heading toward Surrey) on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Friday and the northbound lane (heading towards New Westminster) on Friday, Dec. 10 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Saturday. The closures are required in order to ensure the safety of bridge maintenance crews as they repair potholes on the Pattullo Bridge.
