Motorists are being warned that lanes closures are coming to Pattullo Bridge next week so potholes can be repaired.

According to TransLink, overnight lane closures are required for the safe repair of potholes.

“The Pattullo Bridge will only be open to overnight single-direction traffic next week on Thursday and Friday,” said a TransLink press release. “The lane closures will start at 10 p.m. and run until 5 a.m. the following day. The closures are necessary to ensure the safety of bridge maintenance crews as they repair potholes on the Pattullo Bridge.”

The southbound lane (heading toward Surrey) will be closed on Thursday, December 9 and the northbound closure and the northbound lane (heading towards New Westminster) will be closed on Friday, Dec. 10.

Affected Pattullo Bridge users are being encouraged to use the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternatives during these nights. N19 bus trips will be re-routed over the Alex Fraser Bridge during the closures.

“The Pattullo Bridge will remain open to pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency vehicles in both directions at all times,” said the press release. “Affected customers should plan for up to 30 additional minutes of travel time before leaving for their commute.”
