New Westminster Police are seeking witnesses to a Nov. 27 alleged assault on Front Street.

New Westminster police are seeking witnesses who may have seen a woman being assaulted near the Front Street parkade.

Members of the New Westminster Police Department were called to investigate an alleged assault on Front Street about 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27.

“Police learned a woman had been assaulted by two people as she used a flight of stairs leading from Front Street to the Front Street parkade,” said a NWPD press release. “It is believed the suspects struck the woman.”

Police are now canvassing the area for CCTV footage and asking anyone who witnessed this assault and has not yet spoken to police to contact police department to share what they saw.

“We believe the suspects and the victim are known to each other,” NWPD spokesperson Sgt. Justine Thom said in the news release. “Given the time of day and the proximity to busy Front Street traffic, we believe there are people who may have seen this assault and have not yet spoken to officers.”

According to the NWPD, the woman declined medical assistance.

Anybody who has any further information regarding this incident is asked to contact the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411.
