New West Farmers Market in full swing for the season

The market runs Thursdays until Nov. 4 at Tipperary Park, with full COVID-19 health and safety protocols in place

With summer officially just around the corner, the New West Farmers Market is in full seasonal swing.

The market runs every Thursday at Tipperary Park, next to New Westminster City Hall. There's a priority entrance time between 3 and 3:15 p.m. (for seniors, folks with mobility challenges and those with small children), and regular market hours are from 3:15 to 7 p.m.

As part of its COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the market operates on a one-way basis, so there's one entrance point (at the Queens Avenue end of the Tipperary Park parking lot) and one exit (in front of city hall). Entrance is controlled, so the number of shoppers at any one time is limited, and everyone is asked to shop in one direction only, with no doubling back.

Visitors are asked to wear masks and keep their distance from others.

Shoppers can enjoy a variety of produce and other foods, as well as beverages (including beer, wine and whisky) and a range of artisan products. Each week's vendors are listed on the market's website, so you can check out the list ahead of time and plan your stops.

The market runs weekly until Nov. 4. For all the current market news, you can follow on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
