Little Miss Coffee Company is back in business in New West

A popular mobile café back will soon be back on the road in New Westminster – but it’s already serving up its tasty coffee and treats in a storefront at Capital City Arcade.

Little Miss Coffee Company is back in business – in a new storefront location and in a new trailer.

Michelle Lougheed launched Little Miss Coffee Company in late 2022, serving coffee and freshly baked treats from a peach-coloured, mobile trailer. The New West-based business has been sidelined since November 2023, after a crash took the trailer out of commission.

On Monday, Feb. 26, Little Miss Coffee Company set up shop inside Capital City Arcade in Sapperton. On weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Little Miss Coffee Co. can be found inside the business at 457 East Columbia St.

“I appreciate everyone coming in,” Lougheed told the Record on Friday morning, March 1. “It’s nice to see everybody.”

Lougheed said the plan has been in the works since December.

Along with providing a place where folks can pick up coffee and treats, the arrangement makes use of the front section of Capital City Arcade at a time when that business is closed.

Capital City Arcade, which announced the collaboration on social media, said it had been brainstorming ideas of what to do with that space when the arcade is closed. It noted that the storefront was a “dark” space on the street when the arcade isn’t open and its kitchen space hasn’t been used since 2020.

“If you have missed her little coffee trailer around town, now is your chance,” said Capital City Arcade’s social media post. “Plus, now you can have a seat inside to enjoy your coffee.”

After being off the road for three-months-and-one-day, Lougheed was excited to be picking up a new trailer on March 2 for Little Miss Coffee Company.

Once the new mobile café is on the road, Lougheed and an employee will be staffing both locations on weekdays and working in the trailer on weekends.

Soon, Little Miss Coffee Company will be back on the streets of New West and at farmers markets, markets and other events.

Customers may notice some new offerings at both venues.

“We recently switched our coffee so our coffee is roasted more locally now,” Lougheed said.

Along with assorted coffees and teas, Little Miss Coffee Company sells homemade baked goods.

“I have my own baker, as well as we have some things from other local bakers,” Lougheed said. “Recently we just got in the pies and the carrot cake from Red Couch Bakery. They do markets as well. They are based out of Langley. The pies and carrot cake have been very popular.”
