Spirit medium Tara Diana will host a free intention setting workshop at Sea2Sky Wellness Club this weekend

Are you living your best life? If your answer to that simple question is a “no,” Burnaby-based empowerment and spirit medium Tara Diana might just know how to get you thinking otherwise.

Since the early 2000s, Diana has been helping people set intentions to manifest their ideal life. On Sunday, June 4, she will bring her teachings to New West’s Sea2Sky Wellness Club at a free workshop.

Ever since she was three, Diana has been able to see spirits, she said over a call. After recognizing this unique ability of connecting with the dead at the age of 18, she decided to use it to help others heal, seek comfort and feel empowered.

Diana said that when people come to her for medium-ship — the act of communicating with the dead — it’s because they “feel lost” and can’t figure out their purpose in life.

“What I tell them is this: ‘You have to feel that you are worthy of manifesting what you need’,” she said.

“If you believe that you are worthy, purposeful and powerful, then you are going to start seeing the manifestations come to fruition. You're going to start using powerful words. You’re going to start seeing powerful visions, and recognize and feel how strong you are inside. Then, you're going to project that out because like attracts like,” she said.

As per Diana, life follows a simple logic: If you're sitting in ‘lack,’ you attract ‘lack.’ If you sit in power, you attract abundance.

But how do you perceive the world from a place of power?

The key is to be able to trust your intuitive self, she said.

And trust the saying, “Sometimes you have to believe to see,” added Diana, who also runs a Spirit of Essence podcast series featuring conversations around metaphysical topics.

To help retrain the mind to believe in something, Diana suggests the use of affirmations.

“If I sit here and go like ‘I'm never going to lose weight,’ … I'm never going to lose weight. When our mind believes that, our subconscious starts to believe that. Then, losing those five pounds that you put on in five minutes is going to take you five years because you've convinced yourself at a subconscious level that it's really hard.”

When Diana works with clients, she has them use affirmations on a daily basis. “We put it up, and we look at that affirmation, and say it to ourselves looking in the mirror, ‘I am worthy.’,” she said.

By doing that, she said, we retrain ourselves to believe in ourselves again.

“If someone has been telling you your whole childhood that you are useless, or fat, or ugly, you believe that because that's been ingrained in you.”

With the use of positive and powerful words of “realignment and re-connection to yourself,” Diana said it’s possible to debunk those beliefs.

Diana’s work is all about helping people ace this process.

More recently, she introduced a new line of products — a self-help kit for those who are on their spiritual journey — that include candles, essential oils, affirmation cards, figurines of deities and mantras.

The "goddess kit," as she calls it, comes with a set of instructions and tools to set one’s intentions.

The DIY intention-setting package, she said, will help people work towards manifesting what they need in their life — outside of their sessions with her.

“It gives them something to focus on,” said Diana.

The kit is her way of saying: “I've done the beginnings of it. Now you do the rest.”

Sea2Sky Wellness Club (428 Columbia St.) is organizing a free community reiki session on Saturday, June 3, and an open house by Tara Diana on Sunday, June 4 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The one-day event will include medium-ship, card reading, energy work, massage, aura clearing and more.
