Canada Post won't be delivering mail in New Westminster today (Wednesday, Nov. 30) after last night's snowstorm saw the postal service issue service alerts for much of Metro Vancouver.

No, you won't be getting any mail today if you live in New Westminster.

Canada Post has issued "red" and "yellow" delivery service alerts for parts of B.C. in the wake of last night's snowstorm

"Red" service means there will be no delivery for the day, while "yellow" means Canada Post will do its best to deliver but that there may be delays.

Several parts of Metro Vancouver are under "red" delivery alerts today, meaning there will be no mail service in New Westminster, the Tri-Cities, Richmond, Delta, Surrey, Langley or White Rock.

Burnaby, meanwhile, is under a "yellow" service alert, meaning some areas may see mail today.

A press release from Canada Post says delivery will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so.

"The safety of our employees is our number one priority," the notice says.
