A New Westminster musician is returning home for the Vancouver Chamber Music Society’s concert this weekend. The society’s concert series continues at Anvil Centre on Saturday, Feb. 29 with the Viano String Quartet.

PechaKucha is returning to the city. PechaKucha New West Vol. 25 is happening at Knox Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m.

ON NOW To Sunday, Feb. 23 Vulnerability, a new exhibition featuring the abstract realism drawing of Alisha Sian, at The Gallery at Queen’s Park in Centennial Lodge. Gallery open Wednesdays 1 to 8 p.m., and Thursdays through Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

You can enjoy another evening of music amidst the art this weekend. The New West Artists Gallery on 12 th Street is hosting a concert on Saturday, Feb. 22 featuring Fleetham Stevens and Enrico Renz.

A New Westminster actor has joined the cast of SyFy’s Van Helsing for its final season. Raresh DiMofte plays Captain Rasto in the series, which is set in a post-apocalyptic near future.

Hollywood is rife with films covering the topic of war, especially World War I and II. With the likes of Saving Private Ryan, All Quiet On The Western Front and Hacksaw Ridge, 1917 had a lot to live up to.
