The City of New Westminster has planted 100 poppies at city hall to mark the centennial of the First World War.

My beautiful daughter turns 16 this week. Once upon a time, when we were all much younger, a favourite family ritual was to make up a fresh bedtime story each night.

New West residents can now stroll down to Hyack Square to pick up everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to local bacon and honey thanks to a new, open-air urban grocery cart that will be setting up shop there.

Although men have been assigned the stereotype of working the backyard barbecue, it is a joy that is shared by all home culinary enthusiasts. It’s a summertime passion.

And then there were two. Pianos on the Street is coming to River Market at Westminster Quay this Friday, as part of an initiative that places pianos in open-air locations throughout Metro Vancouver for the public to play.
